It gives us great delight to let everybody know of a change that our own business is experiencing as the firm moves forward.
As many of our clients will remember we’ve come a long way since we started in a small office round the corner, to present day where we now employ around 20 members of staff. It’s been an incredible journey so far and it’s great that many clients have become personal friends over the years. We would hope that one thing that’s stood out in all our advice is that we aren’t motivated by financial rewards but actually helping our clients and seeing your reaction to the results we manage to achieve.
As we’ve grown comes an even greater responsibility to keep our core values at the heart of everything we do. Those core values are unparalleled service to clients, knowledge and friendliness of our staff and our innovative tax solutions. Over the years this unique approach has seen us not only expand quickly but change the face of accountancy in this area.
As such it’s time to bring some more management and infrastructure to the top end of our business and John and I are delighted to appoint Tom Southward to a role as partner. Many of you will recognise Tom as an existing manager in our team which makes this an ideal appointment. We have worked alongside Tom for nearly 7 years and in that time he has not only produced excellent work but has learnt how our business operates and our approach to our clients. We are both delighted to say Tom shares the same vision of how our business should go forward.
Tom holds a degree in business management along with being a very accomplished accountant. He joined us from another local firm where his background was in audit. As a manager within our firm he has been heavily involved in meeting clients, offering advice and helping clients streamline their business and save tax.
From a personal point of view Tom is very active in the local community. He’s a founding member of Ulverston Tri Club, a keen runner with Hoad Hill Harriers and was previously a member of the town’s lantern committee. He has a good knowledge of local business issues which gives him an ideal platform to start his new role.
I’m sure you will see this is an excellent appointment as we look to take the business forward.
