DINNER plates resplendent with festive fayre were served to those less fortunate this Christmas thanks to a seasonal collaboration.
The team here at JF Hornby & Co joined forces with the Furness Homeless Support Group to ensure turkey with all the trimmings was available to all.
Guests who needed a helping hand this year joined the charity’s Christmas and Boxing Day dinner events.
All food required for the meals was supplied by JF Hornby & Co as part of their annual festive giving campaign.
Paul Hornby, Managing Director of JF Hornby & Co said: “We traditionally suoport various charities and initiatives at Christmas as a way of giving back to the communities we value so much.
“We understand that, as much as Christmas can be joyful for many, it can also be challenging for some, who are struggling and need a helping hand.
“We were delighted to be able to help the Furness Homeless Support Group with their annual festive meals and it was wonderful to see on their social media channels how successful this year was for them.
“I am in awe of the volunteers who give up their own Christmas and Boxing days to help others. They are an inspiration.”
After hours of peeling and preparation, the Furness Homeless Support Group teams were ready to go, with three separate crews taking control of the kitchen and carrying out service duty across three sittings; two on Christmas Day and a third on Boxing Day.
Taking to Facebook on Christmas Day evening the group said: ”Lovely day filled with lovely people! Thank you to all that joined us for dinner and all our wonderful volunteers!”

And rounding things off on Boxing Day, they added: “And that is Boxing Day in our centre done and dusted! We have had sing-a-longs, and everyone has left laden with gifts and goodies. Thank you to all that joined us today and thank you to all that helped. Another great day had by all!”
