A new team member has joined JF Hornby Headquarters – and she will be the smiling face clients and visitors first see when they arrive for an appointment.

Meg McDougall, a former clinical support worker, has taken on the role of administrative assistant and receptionist.

In this position, Meg will play a key role in supporting the wider accounting team and will be the first point of contact for clients when they call or visit.

Paul Hornby, Managing Director, said: “Meg is a fantastic addition to the team. Her six years in the NHS have given her a unique perspective on life, and she is already making a very positive impact.

“The person on our reception desk is, in many ways, the face of the business. They welcome clients and guests, handle calls, and play a crucial role in creating a great first impression – one that can last forever.”

Before joining JF Hornby, Meg worked as a Clinical Support Worker in the NHS for six years, followed by a role as a receptionist at a dental practice.

She applied for the position at JF Hornby because she was looking for opportunities to learn and develop, as well as a healthy work-life balance.

Meg said: “My first few weeks have been great. The team has made me feel so welcome, and I’m already involved in lots of different aspects of the business.

“I’m looking forward to learning more and contributing to the company’s positive reputation.”

Outside of work, Meg is a busy mum of two and enjoys spending time with her children.
