A ROUND of charity funding has seen seven community groups receive grants from the Hornby Foundation.
From sports clubs to church bell ringing groups, financial donations have been pledged as part of parent company JF Hornby & Co’s commitment to supporting its local communities.
The latest round of donations brings the total awarded since the foundation was launched to more than £360,000.

JF Hornby Chairman, John Hornby said: “The success we enjoy as is down to the businesses and individuals in the communities we serve trusting us to advise and act on their behalf when it comes to accountancy and taxation matters.
“The Hornby Foundation is our way of giving back to our towns and villages and making a difference to groups and organisations that might otherwise struggle for funding.
“It is always a particularly happy time of the year for me when we get a new round of grants being awarded. We’re family owned; our team come from our local communities – it’s right that we do our bit to give back.”
The latest grants, which total £9,800, have been awarded to:
Dane Ghyll School for their Garden Project.
Ulverston Rangers for tracksuits and kit.
Ulverston Amateur Operatic Society to support with show costs.
