THE calculators were put to one side for an afternoon as team members at one of Cumbria’s leading accountancy firm’s celebrating the upcoming coronation of King Charles III.

Staff at JF Hornby and Co got into the spirit as they donned masks of His Majesty along with the Quen Consort, Camilla.

The team wore crows as they tucked into a spread that was quite literally fit for a king.

And the company’s reception area, at their Tower HQ in Daltonrongate Business Park, was adorned with a flag to mark the occasion.

Managing Director Paul Hornby said: The coronation has been the talk of the office since a date was announced. We were all deeply saddened with the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, so it was great to be able to celebrate the crowing of her son as our next sovereign.

“I believe it is important to mark such historic events and all of our team members were only too happy to join in.”

Charles became king upon his mother’s death on 8 September 2022. At the age of 73, he became the oldest person to accede to the British throne, after having been the longest-serving heir apparent and Prince of Wales in British history.

His coronation took place at Westminster Abbey on 6 May 2023.
